This weekend, the Stony Brook School Rocketry Team hosted a STEM outreach event at the Emma S. Clark Library, bringing the excitement of aerospace engineering to the community. Attendees, especially young learners, joined us in building small model rockets, exploring the principles of rocketry through hands-on creativity. Guided by our team members, participants assembled and decorated their rockets before launching them outdoors, sparking enthusiasm for science and engineering. Long Island Maker Faire @ SBU
This year the Stony Brook School Rocketry and Robotics Team participated in the Long Island Maker Faire at Stony Brook University, showcasing the thrill of STEM to the community. Visitors of all ages had the chance to engage in hands-on activities, from assembling small model rockets to exploring robotics demonstrations, guided by our team members. Attendees tested their creations, learned key engineering concepts, and experienced the excitement of launching rockets and programming robots. The event highlighted creativity, collaboration, and innovation, inspiring young minds to explore science, technology, and engineering.
