Our Story

It actually IS rocket science! Student Launch is a 9-month long challenge that tasks student teams from across the U.S. to design, build, test, and launch a high-powered rocket carrying a scientific or engineering payload. It is a hands-on, research-based, engineering activity and culminates each year with a final launch in Huntsville, Alabama home of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. The activity offers multiple challenges reaching a broad audience colleges and universities as well as middle and high school aged students across the nation.

Our Story

We are the Stony Brook School Rocketry Team—a group of students brought together by a shared passion for engineering, problem-solving, and the thrill of flight. What started as simple curiosity soon became hours of designing, building, and testing as we learned to turn ideas into airworthy rockets.

Through our motto Assertiveness, Resilience, and Collaboration,  we grew into a united crew ready to take on the American Rocketry Challenge.

This is our story: a journey fueled by learning, creativity, and the excitement of watching our work lift off.
